Richard D. Powell

Richard D. Powell is the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of the Bank of Montana.
Background
Mr. Powell has 31 years experience in banking with 16 years senior-management experience and 9 years as the CEO/President and Board member of an independently and nationally chartered community bank. In his CEO/President position he was responsible for all aspects of the strategic and day-to-day management of the bank. Among these duties, he was responsible for the administration and production of call reports, asset-liability management, loan portfolio management, and compliance. Mr. Powell is a graduate of the National Bank Compliance School and assisted in the development of the system-wide compliance manual for a 12-bank, national bank holding company known as the Montana Bank System, and was on the holding company’s strategic planning task force. He has also had extensive professional training in bank management, including being a graduate of the prestigious Pacific Coast Banking School. He is a true Montana banking system veteran.
