Tom is the Chief Executive Officer and President of the Bank of Montana.
Background
Prior to founding the Bank of Montana, Tom founded and served as the CEO and
President of Montana Business Capital Corporation.
Tom has held senior-level management positions at private corporations and
financial institutions for the past two decades. Tom was a professor of Small Business
Management, Statistics and Accounting at the University of Montana. He has
been a featured speaker at SBA, Bureau of Business and Economic Research,
Montana World Trade Center, Mansfield Center, Economic Development Summits,
Realtor Organization Events, the University of Montana Business School,
Department of Commerce, and many other community events and seminars. Tom
also served as the President of a regional community development corporation
for about two years. Tom has extensive experience in commercial lending. Tom
has held many positions in the banking industry including positions as: loan
review officer; loan officer; assistant vice president; branch manager; the
contracted senior lender for the second-largest nationally chartered bank
based and operating in Montana; a national bank loan committee member; a
national bank senior loan committee member; a national bank board loan
committee member; a national bank board real estate committee member; and a
national bank director.
Tom founded Montana Business Capital Corporation in 1998 to provide creative
lending solutions to businesses in Montana. The combination of his education
and professional experience as a banker, business manager and community
development lender provides Tom with exceptional insight into the services
offered by the Bank of Montana.
Tom is a charter member of the Montana Academy of Distinguished
Entrepreneurs (MADE). Tom has judged the business plan competition at the
University of Montana for many years and is a member of MADE's special task
force assigned to the John Ruffatto Business Plan Competition. Tom serves on the Board of the International Trade Alliance and was also
appointed by the United States Secretary of Commerce to a board position
with the Department of Commerce's District Export Council representing
Montana.

Interests
Tom is a licensed pilot in the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
Tom is a licensed real estate agent, a licensed mortgage broker, and an
inactive formerly licensed insurance agent in the State of Montana. Tom serves on the Board of Missoula Youth Homes and the International Trade Alliance.
Tom is an avid runner and yogi. Tom also enjoys summer softball league,
mountain biking, hiking, and rafting. Tom loves to travel and enjoys history
and the arts. Additionally, Tom works with the Montana World Trade Center
and has been on trade missions to China, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland,
England and Canada. |
